Manager Roy Keane says he is still looking into the option of loaning out both Carlos Edwards and Anthony Stokes.
The two players are currently on the fringes of the Black Cats first team squad and in need of game time.
With Sheffield Wednesday believed to be interested in Edwards he may well find himself away from the squad shortly but, with regard to Stokes, Keane says he has yet to have any discussions.
"There has been interest in Carlos and I'll have a chat with him.
"I've had no calls about Stokesy, but I'm open-minded with some of the players on the fringes, and if a club wants to ring up and ask about Stokesy, we'll have a chat.
"He's keeping his head down and he's working hard.
"I think it would have helped if he'd been away with Ireland Under-21s last week.
"He would have benefited from that because he needs games."
